As a cloud-based collaboration application used by many companies, Slack has announced its new features. These innovations, particularly relevant to iOS users, provide ease of use and access. The introduced features are a first for the Slack iOS app. Here are the new iPhone widgets added to the Slack iOS app…
Slack Adds Four New Widgets for iOS
For the first time, Slack has added widgets for iPhone devices, with a total of four widgets aimed at providing easy access. Despite initially announcing three widgets, Slack has added four new widgets. Three of these widgets are designed for the iPhone home screen, while the fourth can be added to the lock screen.
The Catch Up widget, as announced, allows users to see unread messages, notifications, or mentions via a tile on the home screen. By tapping on the notification in the widget, users are automatically taken to the unread message or the conversation they missed.
The other two home screen widgets introduced are the Slack Status widget and the Slack Launcher widget. The Status widget shows notifications and takes the user directly to that section, while also allowing the selection of one-hour statuses like “Focus” and “Lunch” or a 30-minute “Break” status. Currently, without customization, the Slack iOS widgets seem likely to develop further. Additionally, unwanted notifications can be cleared from the status widget.
